Local Food Systems Project

Making Local Food Work have announced the launch of Local Food Systems, a new project supporting individual food groups across the country to work together co-operatively, increasing the impact of locally-produced food on their communities.

The project will work with six clusters of community food enterprises;  The Kindling Trust, Sussex Food Hub, Liverpool Food Alliance, Nottingham Food Partnership, Transition Penwith and Colne-U-Copia.

The Local Food Systems project will focus on how the groups can be supported to work together to improve access to local food for a wider portion of the community. The project will support communities to capitalise on the benefits of collaboration and to develop mechanisms for sharing and developing as a bonded unit—a localised food system based on ethical and sustainable principles.
