Hairy Bikers look at ‘Meals on Wheels’ service

Hairy Meals On Wheels, is a chance to see a distinctive new side to the Bikers as they turn their unique approach to the social issue of provision of “meals on wheels“.

In the wake of the Blitz, war-torn Britain united to deliver hot meals to families whose homes had been destroyed.

Sixty years on, the children of that ‘baby boomers’ generation are reaching retirement during a time of recession.

Over the series we will see the Bikers get to grips with a community who – with the Bikers’ help – are determined to carry on providing daily home-delivered hot meals for their elderly population.

The series is a fast-paced look at history, heritage and cooking, using heart-warming recipes, fascinating local characters, and a delicious serving of social history.
